Nose: Sweet Corn, a distinct alcoholic ethanol then hits. Touches of oak and vanilla.
Taste: Oily, very oak char forward. Hints of caramel and brown sugar.
Finish: Slightly hot, cracked pepper. Surprisingly long finish ruined by metallic aftertaste that lingers with the finish.
Comments: Evan Williams is an affordable (under $20) bourbon that’s easy to find. It makes and excellent mixer for bourbon cocktails. I would avoid the green label but find this to be excellent considering the price point and availability. The label seems to be trying to emulate Jack, but I prefer Williams to Jack.
