Price: $75 for 750ml
Distilled/Owned by: Buffalo Trace / Sazerac
Region: Frankfort, Kentucky
63.6% ABV
Aged For: 6 – 8 Years
Mashbill: Buffalo Trace Mashbill #1
Cask Type: New charred oak, Char #4
Chill Filtered: No
Drank: Neat, in a glencairn
Color: Dark copper
Nose: Caramel, oaked corn, vanilla, brown sugar, and light fruits. Much more delicate than the proof.
Taste: Toasted marshmallow, cracked black pepper, milk chocolate, coffee bean, and oak. In between watery and thick.
Finish: Warm with spice and decent length. Vanilla and wood are predominate.
Thoughts: Not nearly as powerful as Stagg Jr. from the same mash bill, and more vanilla and no cherry to be seen. Probably the most delicate of the barrel proof bourbons I have come across, but very enjoyable.
Score: 85 out of 100
