Paid: $85 for 750ml
Distilled/Owned by: Glenfarclas
Aged For: At least 8 years (and likely close to that)
Mashbill: 100% malted barley
Cask Type: Sherry casks
Chill Filtered: No
Color Added: No
Drank: Neat, in a glencairn
Color: Dark Copper
Nose: Caramel, fudge, sherry, sultanas, orange zest, dark chocolate and the alcohol lets it’s proof be known.
Taste: Tangerine, fruit cake, cherry, more chocolate, vanilla and woody oak. Viscous and coats the palate.
Finish: Very warm, but not burning. Vanilla, figs, ginger and a bit of cracked pepper.
Thoughts: Not as fruity as the Nadurra oroloso, and it Doesn’t have hit the same Christmas spice notes that A’bundah has going on. If I were to tag this cask strength sherry bomb it would be balanced compared to the other two.
Score: 87 out of 100
