I got a drink of this for free when I ordered the groth cask. Wasn’t expecting much from this, didn’t get much either, but I was glad to have tried it for the frame of reference.
Price: $30 for 750ml

41.15% ABV

Drank: Sadly in a tumbler, neat
Color: Light amber
Nose: Caramel, honey, earthy, acetone and astringent. A bit of cinnamon.
Taste: Has a peanut flavor, vegetal and earthy. Leather and honey. Tastes burnt and of barrel char.
Finish: Much hotter than the proof and astringent. Vanilla, oak, and caramel.
Thoughts: There are worse things you could drink, but for less money I’d go with just about any Evan Williams, or BT
Score: 70 out of 100
