Mashbill: 60% corn, 36% rye, 4% barley
Cask Type: New charred oak
Chill Filtered: No
Drank: Neat, in a glencairn
Color: Brownish Copper
Nose: Honey, vanilla, alcohol heavy, very slight citrus, and tobacco notes
Taste: Cinnamon pops in the mouth, followed by cherry. Very astringent, dirty oak, rye, and caramel.
Finish: Quick, with less burn than the palate. Toasted oak, chocolate, and cloves.
Thoughts: I’m not the biggest fan of MGP bourbons, I much prefer their ryes. This one was very average to me.
