Distilled/Owned by: Talisker / Diageo
Region: Island (Isle of Skye)
Mashbill: 100% malted barley
Cask Type: Ex-bourbon
Aged For: 10 Years
Chill Filtered: Yes
Color Added: Yes
Drank: Neat, in a glencairn
Color: Orangish gold
Nose: Peat smoke, sea air, pine and cedar trees, heather, and slight whiffs of grass.
Taste: Sweater than the nose, with honey and apple, which then proceeds to become earthy. More smoke appears with a taste of salted meats and old wood.
Finish: Very gentle and a bit dry. Light peat smoke and a bit of dirt linger in the mouth with just a light touch of ginger.
Thoughts: Slightly above average peated malt. I like the wood notes from the nose and the variation in taste that occurs on my palate. Not a fan of the fake coloring.
Score: 78 out of 100
