Previously KBD sourced their Family Estate Ryes, and the bottles had wax tops. Their own distillate is now coming of age and bottled with the regular foil seals. The Small Batch is a blend of 2 rye mashbills (A 74% rye and 51% rye each with 15% malted barley and the rest being corn).

Drank: Neat, in a glencairn
Nose: Cinnamon, vanilla, sweet brown sugar, baking spice, pepper, and sharp rye
Taste: Cinnamon, caramel, mint, eucalyptus, spicy and herbal. Wet on the palate.
Finish: Warm and a good linger with nutmeg, pipe tobacco, vanilla, and mocha notes.
Thoughts: This rye has really grown on my from the first time I tried it. It really punches above its age and I look forward to trying the 4 year when I can.
