A blend of bourbon and rye whiskeys from High West. This was the 2015 Batch so the blend has changed significantly since then.

Mashbill: 9 year bourbon (75% corn, 21% rye, 4% barley) from MGP, 10 year rye (95% rye, 5% barley) from MGP, 16 year rye (95% rye, 5% barley) from MGP, 16 year rye (80% rye, 10% corn, 10% malt) from Barton

Aged For: Minimum 9 years

Cask Type: New charred oak

Color: Brass

Drank: Neat, in a glencairn.

Nose: Clove, cinnamon, rye, leather, licorice, and mint.

Mouthfeel: Intermediate

Palate/Taste: Vanilla, cinnamon, tobacco, oak, charcoal, and honey.

Finish: Gentle, with bits of oak, caramel, and leather.

Thoughts: The end result is not worth the sum of its parts. It doesn’t do any one thing well as either a bourbon or a rye.
