Cask Type: New charred oak
Chill Filtered: No
Color: Golden Honey
Drank: Neat, in a glencairn
Nose: Sweet vanilla and mint. Rye, clove, young and astringent. Anise and eucalyptus.
Taste: Cinnamon, clove, mint, dill, and a bit of oregano. Tastes young and has a definite harshness.
Finish: Medium warmth and length, with cinnamon, oak, and caramel.
Thoughts: The youth in this really kicks you, I much prefer the older, higher rye content Rendezvous Rye, and can’t comment as to how this rye will hold up in a cocktail as I drink it neat only.
Score: 76 out of 100
