Region: Kentucky
50% ABV
Mashbill: Buffalo Trace mash bill #1
Aged For: Minimum 4 years, likely between 8 – 12 on average.
Cask Type: New charred oak, Char #4
Chill Filtered: Yes?
Color: Light copper
Drank: Neat, in a glencairn.
Nose: Leather, caramel, oak, vanilla, coffee, and brown sugar
Mouthfeel: Intermediate
Palate/Taste: Sweet molasses, brown sugar, caramel, vanilla, and chocolate
Finish: Medium warmth, slight bitterness, and a hint of fruit with vanilla and oak.
Thoughts: I enjoy the small batch quite a bit, and it’s a much better buy in my opinion than the single barrel. If you like very sweet bourbon, with emphasis on vanilla this will hit the spot.
Score: 84 out of 100
