Price: $70 for 750ml

Distilled/Owned by: MGP & Barton / High West

Region: America

46% ABV

Mashbill: 95% rye, 5% barley from MGP & 53% rye, 37% corn, 10% barley from Barton

Aged For: Minimum 2 years

Cask Type: New charred white American oak, finished in French oak that held vermouth and syrah

Chill Filtered: No

Color: Reddish Mahagony

Drank: Neat, in a glencairn.

Nose: Vermouth, herbal, underlying rye spice, dill, and oak

Mouthfeel: Intermediate, slightly dry

Palate/Taste: Cinnamon, juniper, caramel, wine and vermouth, and wood

Finish: Caramel, cinnamon, and clove, with olive flavors.

Thoughts: I hate vermouth, so it’s no surprise I don’t care for this. The young rye and wine notes don’t work for me.

Score: 55 out of 100
