Price: $80 for 750ml
Distilled/Owned by: Buffalo Trace / Sazerac
Mashbill: Buffalo Trace mashbill #1
Aged For: NAS
Cask Type: New charred oak, Char #4
Chill Filtered: No
Color: Light copper
Drank: Neat, in a glencairn.
Nose: Sweet mash, cotton candy, vanilla, toasted oak, nutmeg, and baking spices.
Palate/Taste: Vanilla, caramel, butter, oak, rye and wheat compete as a secondary grain in a sort of jumbled way, but it isn’t harsh.
Finish: Shorter with little warmth, there’s a sort of interesting toasted marshmallow, oak and heavy vanilla finish, but it’s over far too quickly.
Thoughts: An easy sipping bourbon with sweet flavors being predominate, but the short finish, and jumbled palate notes prevents it from achieving greatness.
Score: 83 out of 100
