Baron de Lustrac 1973

Baron de Lustrac 1973

Distilled/Owned by: Domaine de Courros

Region: Bas Armagnac, France

42% ABV

Grapes: 100% Folle Blanche

Aged For: Unsure exactly

Cask Type: French Oak

Color: Tawny

Drank: Neat, in a glencairn

Nose: Old oak, caramel, port wine, vanilla, cinnamon, sugar peach pits

Mouthfeel: Light bodied, dry

Palate/Taste: Oak and spices with sour grapes, and a coffee like note, blackberries

Finish: Little warmth with a bit of pepper, oak, maraschino cherries, mint, and chocolate

Thoughts: The nose was very promising, but I wasn’t the biggest fan of the palate, and the finish while good flavored was to light and short.

Score: 78 out of 100
