Distilled/Owned by: Blend of malts that include Ardbeg, Dalmore, Fettercairn / Ian Macleod Distillers
Mashbill: 100% malted barley
Aged For: NAS (All malts were distilled in 1990 or before)
Cask Type: First-fill oak
Chill Filtered: Yes
Color Added: Yes
Drank: Neat, in a glencairn.
Nose: Gentle peat, costal spray, vanilla, salty citrus, smoke upfront with fruit afterwards
Mouthfeel: Light to medium body
Palate/Taste: Sherry, vanilla, caramel, citrus, salt, gentle peat, and malt
Finish: Medium warmth and length, caramel, salt, peat, oak, and chocolate
Thoughts: An example of a good blended malt. I would have liked all the usual higher proof, NCF, and NC, but for what it is, it’s a tasty light costal blend.
Score: 82 out of 100
