55.1% ABV
Aged For: 10 Years
Mashbill: 100% malted barley
Cask Type: First fill bourbon casks
Chill Filtered: No
Color Added: Yes
Color: Pale Gold
Drank: Neat, in a glencairn
Nose: Strong alcohol hits with smoke, menthol, peat, oak, vanilla, saltwater, citrus
Feel: Medium
Taste: Sharp, pepper, vanilla, oak, smoke, honey, ash and cinders, and lemon juice
Finish: Warm and long lasting, charred wood, spice, pepper, vanilla, caramel, and salt with mossy peat
Thoughts: At first its sharp and slightly harsh, but mellows out with a nice peat punch with a lot of influence from the bourbon casks. The full proof and non chill filter prove Bowmore can put out something that isn’t bland compared to some of my previous experiences.
