54.9% ABV

Aged For: 24 Years (Distilled 1994)

Mashbill: Single Grain

Chill Filtered: No

Color Added: No

Drank: Neat, in a glencairn

Color: Florescent Gold

Nose: Strong honey and vanilla notes. Heather, gentle fruits, grape, pine wood, and pepper.

Taste: Warmer than expected and thick. (In hindsight I wasn’t expecting the high proof) Creamy butter, bourbon chocolate, oak, vanilla, and custard.

Finish: Warm and lingering, with notes of honeycomb, pudding, caramel, and butterscotch

Thoughts: Sweet and warm, so far all of the grain whiskies I have had, I’ve enjoyed (although I’m not seeking out the lower end ones). I would highly recommend to fans of bourbon looking to make their way over to scotch.

Score: 85 out of 100
