Mashbill: 100% malted barley
Aged For: 10 years
Cask Type: Ex-Bourbon
Chill Filtered: Yes
Color Added: Yes
Color: Pale gold
Drank: Neat, in a glencairn.
Nose: Barley malt, honey, light apples, and young wood
Mouthfeel: Light bodied
Palate/Taste: Caramel, vanilla, pears, apples, oak, and possibly a faint smoke?
Finish: Short, with a linger of stewed honey, apples, and oak.
Thoughts: For how cheap it is, I expected more offputting notes, or astringency, which I did not find. If your friends like Glenlivet and you’re being cheap entertaining I doubt they would notice much of a difference.
