Nose: Bright sour grape, floral, pear, peach, light sugar, apricot

Mouthfeel: Light to medium body

Palate/Taste: White grapes, peach, pear, sour orchard fruits

Finish: Light and short, with similar notes from the nose and palate returning very quickly

Thoughts: While to body is helped by the added ABV, this is clearly designed with mixing in mind as the sour notes would need to be masked in order for this to be enjoyed consistently neat.

Nose: Very much a Spanish rum, airy honey, molasses, sharp spice, and slight alcohol

Mouthfeel: Light to medium bodied

Palate/Taste: Light oak tannins, molasses, vanilla, honey, cream, and cococnut

Finish: Vanilla, oak, coconut, medium length, light to medium warmth.

Thoughts: It reminds me of a more creamy version of Mount Gay black barrel, while decent, if your in the States it is not worth the trouble to import.

Taste: Vanilla, honey, apple, pear, butterscotch, oak, and caramel drizzle

Finish: Light to medium warmth and length, malt, honey, vanilla, oak, and caramel

Thoughts: It tastes like a malt whisky version of bourbon, and I actually enjoyed it more than I expected to. You get a lot of the bourbon vanilla, but the malt gives it a nice orchard fruit palate.

Thoughts: I continue to enjoy Glenfarclas’ profile, but it never seems to really knock my socks off.

Finish: Warm, medium length, slightly drying, tannins, leather, ginger, oak.

Thoughts: This one reminded me a lot of an old sherried scotch, a nice combination of fruit and tannins.

Thoughts: Leaves a very crisp feeling in my mouth and a massive improvement over the 8 year I tried

Finish: Medium warmth and length, dry oak, dark coffee, berries, and cigar tobacco

Thoughts: While some of the fruit notes were nice, and by no means is this bad, it’s just another good but not spectacular single cask.
