Color: Deep gold

Nose: Cloves, cinnamon and oak are the initial scents. A bit of alcohol astringency mixed with caramel and honey follow.

Taste: Nutmeg, allspice, sandalwood, cigar tobacco, oak, cherry and a dab of ginger make for a complex palate with a decent mouthfeel.

Finish: Warm and crisp. Loaded with honey and rich toffee that gets sweeter over time.

Thoughts: It succeeds in having a rich spice flavor that was the intent. Very woody and a solid dram.

Score: 80 out of 100
